These terms govern your use of the UniCopy website. By visiting or using our website, you agree to be legally bound by these terms.

  1. Definitions and interpretation

In these terms:

“terms” means these terms of use together with our Privacy Policy, Refund & Returns Policy, Cookie Policy, Security Policy, PAIA Manual, and Website Disclaimer;

“we”, “us”, “our” means UniCopy (also trading as UniCopy & Stationers), including our officers, agents, employees, owners, and associates where these terms limit or exclude liability;

“you”, “your” means any visitor to this website, including any other person, website, business, or agent (including any virtual or robotic agent) associated with the visitor.

If any general term conflicts with any specific policy, the specific policy will apply.

  1. Use of this website

Licence. We grant you a limited licence to use this website on these terms. We may cancel your licence at any time for any reason. Your licence is automatically cancelled if you use this website in a way these terms do not allow.

Breach. If you breach any of these terms or infringe any other person’s rights (including copyright), we may cancel your licence, block you from using the website, claim specific performance or damages against you, and take any other steps the law allows, without affecting our rights.

Framing and linking. You may not frame this website or any of its pages. You may only link to our home page. You may not deep link (link to any other page) or link in any way that could suggest we endorse you or that you have any rights in our intellectual property, unless we have given you written permission.

Virtual agents. You may not use any technology (including spiders, crawlers, bots, and similar virtual agents) to search or gain any information from this website, unless we have given you permission.

  1. Capacity

You promise that you are entitled to visit this website and agree to these terms because you:

  • are at least 18 years old (or regarded as legally adult) and have the legal right and capacity to do so; or
  • are not 18 yet but have permission from your parent or legal guardian.
  1. Accurate information

You promise that you will only give accurate information to us and this website.

  1. Intellectual property

Ownership. All rights, title, interest, and ownership (including all rights under copyright, patent, and other intellectual property laws) in or to this website are our sole property or will vest in us or a third party licensor. All moral rights are reserved.

Trademarks. Our logo and name “UniCopy” are our trademarks. No person may use them without our permission. Any other trademark or trade name that appears on our website is the property of its respective owner.

  • reverse engineer or copy the website; or
  • reproduce or distribute the website.
  1. Limits to our liability (website use)

Own risk. We provide the website “as is”. We do not give any express or implied warranty or make any other promise about this website.

Indemnity. You indemnify us against any claim, demand, loss, damage, cost, or liability (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) related to your use of this website.

Faults. We will do our best to fix any fault in this website as soon as reasonably practical after we find out about it. This is the limit of our responsibility and liability for any fault in the website.

Direct damages limited. Our maximum liability to you for all claims for direct damages arising from your use of this website is R100. This limit applies whether a claim is based on contract, delict (tort), or any other legal cause of action.

Indirect damages. We will never be responsible for any indirect or consequential damages or losses, even if we should have foreseen them. These may include any loss of profit, loss of goodwill, loss of use, or damages related to lost or damaged data.

Other websites. We are not responsible for anyone else’s website linked from our site.

Part B: E-Commerce Terms

The following terms apply when you place an order for printing services or products.

  1. Orders

All orders are subject to acceptance by UniCopy. You are responsible for ensuring all submitted details are accurate. Production begins only after you approve your artwork. Once production starts, you cannot change or cancel your order.

  1. Artwork approval

We print exactly as you approve it.

Please check your artwork carefully for spelling, layout, colours, and design before you click “Approve” or any similar “approval” button. UniCopy is not responsible for any errors in approved artwork.

You confirm that your artwork does not violate anyone else’s copyright or trademark. You agree to take full responsibility for your approved artwork and indemnify us against any claims arising from it.

  1. Pricing and payment

Prices may change without notice, but confirmed orders are honoured at the quoted price. Prices exclude VAT (15%) unless stated otherwise. Full payment is required before production starts. We accept EFT, credit/debit card, and cash (in-store only).

However, custom-printed items are exempt because they are made to your specific requirements. You cannot cancel or return custom items simply because you changed your mind.

  1. Delivery and risk

Delivery times are estimates only. We are not liable for courier delays. Once your order is handed to a courier or collected by you, the risk of loss or damage passes to you. If your order arrives damaged by the courier, please contact the courier directly. We will assist with proof of dispatch.

  1. Collection (in-store)

Orders must be collected within 30 days of us notifying you that they are ready. After 30 days, uncollected orders may be disposed of without a refund.

  1. Returns and refunds

Custom items – non-refundable unless defective. If you change your mind or approved artwork contains an error, no refund is available.

Standard items – you may return unused standard goods within 7 days for a refund. A 10% handling fee applies. Return shipping is for your account.

Defective items – you must report defects within 48 hours of delivery or collection. Email sales@unicopy.co.za with photos. If we confirm a defect, you may choose a repair, replacement, or full refund.

  1. Cancellations

You may cancel only before production starts. A 15% handling fee may be deducted from your refund. No cancellation is allowed once production has started (after artwork approval).

  1. Limitation of liability (orders)

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for any indirect losses (e.g., lost profits, business interruption). Nothing in these terms removes your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.

  1. General

Entire agreement. These terms are the entire agreement between you and us on this subject.

Changes to website. We may change or stop publishing this website without notice and will not be responsible for any consequences.

Changes to terms. We may change these terms at any time by posting a notice on this website or updating this page. If you do not agree with the change, you must stop using the website, otherwise the changed terms will apply to you.

Waiver. We never waive our rights, even if we allow you any favour or extension of time, or we delay enforcing our rights against you.

Severability. Any term that is invalid, illegal, or cannot be enforced must be regarded as deleted. The remaining terms continue as intended.

Law and jurisdiction. South African law governs these terms. Only the South African courts may decide any dispute about these terms.
